NIHR Chairperson’s Statement on the Minister of Interior’s Address
Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), expressed his sincere appreciation for the remarks contained in the address delivered by His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, which affirmed the importance of safeguarding the security and stability of the nation and rejecting anything that may undermine civil peace or threaten the security of society. The address also emphasized that the Constitution and laws guarantee equality among citizens without discrimination, thereby reinforcing the values of national unity and social cohesion, while rejecting sectarianism and hate speech.
Alderazi affirmed that security and stability constitute a fundamental pillar for ensuring individuals’ enjoyment of their rights and freedoms, stressing the importance of promoting a culture of dialogue, coexistence, and respect for societal diversity, as well as preserving the Bahraini social fabric, particularly in light of the current regional challenges.
He added that the current stage requires concerted national efforts and raising societal awareness regarding the dangers of incitement and divisive rhetoric, in a manner that strengthens national solidarity and preserves the national constants and achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
