Secretary-General of NIHR Expresses Gratitude to His Majesty the King and Congratulates Newly Appointed Members

Yasser Ghanim Shaheen, Secretary-General of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), extended his highest expressions of gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, on the occasion of the issuance of Royal Order No. (26) of 2025 appointing the members of the NIHR Council of Commissioners. He commended the Royal trust, which reflects His Majesty’s unwavering support for strengthening the human rights framework in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Secretary-General also congratulated the newly appointed members, wishing them every success in carrying out their duties and responsibilities, and affirming his confidence in their ability to contribute effectively to the promotion and protection of human rights in line with both national and international standards.

Shaheen further expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude to the former members of the Council of Commissioners, whose terms had ended, praising their dedicated efforts and outstanding contributions during their tenure, which had a positive impact in advancing the Institution’s goals and strengthening its mission.

He also emphasized the commitment of the General Secretariat to continue providing full support and assistance to the Board of Commissioners, enabling them to perform their duties and responsibilities to the fullest, and to work towards fulfilling their mandate in order to realize the Institution’s mission of promoting and protecting human rights in the Kingdom.
