NIHR and MARSD organize “Human Rights Challenges” Competition for Civil Society Organizations

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), in cooperation with Bahrain Human Rights Monitor Society (MARSD) organized the first edition of the cultural competition “Human Rights Challenges” with the participation of a number of civil society organizations at the NIHR’s Training Center in the Seef district.

The “Good Word Society” achieved the first place with a great difference in points from the other societies, while the “Youth Leadership Society” achieved the second place.  Ms. Maria Khoury, Chairperson of the NIHR, crowned the winners and presented the cup of the competition and gold and silver medals.

For their part, the participating societies expressed their pleasure at this event that aimed to raise awareness of human rights and the laws regulating it.  They stated that such events contribute significantly to strengthening the lies and relations between civil society organizations and the NIHR, looking forward to holding more competitions in order to achieve more goals aimed at promoting and disseminating the culture of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The competition witnessed the participation of Manama Human Rights Center, Bahrain Autism Society, Al-Bayareq Al-Bayda’a Society, Thekhr Bahrain Society, Mabade’a Human Rights Society, Bahrain Center for International Mobility, Youth Leadership Society and the Good Word Society.
