NIHR Highlights Its Efforts in Child Rights at a Regional Workshop in Amman

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), represented by Dr. Shaima Abdulla Mohammed, Member of the Council of Commissioners, participated in a regional workshop organized by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) for regional offices in the Middle East and North Africa, under the title: “Promoting Child Rights in the Region – A Networking Workshop with Stakeholders”, held in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
During the three-day workshop, Dr. Shaima presented the NIHR’s experience in the Kingdom of Bahrain in promoting and protecting child rights. Her presentation covered several key aspects, including the establishment, legal framework, and mandated tasks of the NIHR, its strategy and action plan (2024–2025), its engagement in child rights protection, as well as the First Annual Forum for Bahraini Children entitled “You Have the Right… You Have a Voice”, and the right to participation through the Friends of the Child Rights Commissioner team, in addition to efforts to strengthen cooperation with stakeholders.
