HRH Prime Minister Receives NIHR’s Annual Report

NIHR Council of Commissioners’ Chairperson and members were honored to meet His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the esteemed Council of Ministers, at Al-Gudaibiya Palace, on Sunday 15 January 2017, where they presented to His Highness the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s two annual reports for 2015 and 2016.

HRH praised the content of the two reports, which monitored the human rights activity in the Kingdom of Bahrain and its ways of development by making use of international expertise in the human rights arena, as well as efforts aiming at elaborating the human rights achievements in Bahrain through communication with the specialized organizations in this field.  Moreover, HRH emphasized that Bahrain has a great number of human rights achievements in various fields and that HRH constantly directs media to generate active information tools to introduce Bahrain’s human rights achievements to the whole world.

During the meeting, HRH asserted that the Government deals with the human rights issue from a comprehensive perspective which exceeds all the limits.  It is keen to ensure that all citizens enjoy their rights to live with dignity, security, safety and stability and have access to all services that provide them with a decent life, pointing out that the human rights values are very highly esteemed in Bahrain.  HRH further stressed that Bahrain is always keen to support and foster its cooperation with all human rights institutions in the world that attempt to achieve better human rights conditions and share with Bahrain its trend towards improving the human rights concept and turning it into a public culture in the society and governmental work.

HRH Prime Minister further praised NIHR’s achievements in the human rights arena in Bahrain, which have good local and international implications.

On his side, NIHR Council of Commissioners’ Chairperson Dr. Abdul-Aziz Hassan Abul expressed his honor with his colleagues NIHR members to present NIHR’s two annual reports for 2015 and 2016 to His Royal Highness Prime Minister of the esteemed Council of Ministers and to listen to HRH’s directives on human rights in Bahrain.  He further praised Government’s support, under HRH’s presidency, to every national effort that aims at upgrading and establishment of human rights.
