NIHR follows-up on the Case of an Arab Women Abused by her Husband

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) followed-up with concern the social media posts on an Arab woman suffered from violence and abuse by her husband, who is currently being detained, and took action in accordance with its broad mandate asserted by its Establishment Law as per the Paris Principles, in order to find out the reasons that had led to the occurrence of this violent attack.

Mrs. Rawda Salman Al-Aradi, member of the NIHR’s Board of Commissioners and Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up, with both Dr. Jassim Al-Muhazaa, Acting Chief Medical Officer of Salmaniya Medical Complex, and Mr. Jassim Bahr, Head of Administrative Services at the Hospital, to discuss her condition and rest assured on her.

The NIHR confirms that it is currently in contact with all relevant official bodies to follow-up their commitment to provide counseling services and psychological rehabilitation of the abused Arab women as per the international conventions and treaties ratified by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the area of women’s rights.
