NIHR and UNDP Discuss Ways to Strengthen Joint Cooperation

Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received a delegation from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Country Office, headed by Ms. Asmaa Shalaby, UNDP Resident Representative, on the sidelines of the Regional Workshop on “Responsible Governance of Artificial Intelligence in the Arab States.” The workshop was organized by NIHR in cooperation with the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions and UNDP, in partnership with the Arab Information and Communication Technologies Organization.

During the meeting, Alderazi commended the existing cooperation between NIHR and UNDP, stressing the importance of continuing coordination and the exchange of expertise, particularly in the areas of training and technical programmes, capacity-building, and skills development, in a manner that supports NIHR’s efforts and enhances the capabilities of its staff in areas of mutual interest.

For her part, Shalaby expressed her appreciation for the cooperation with NIHR and commended the organization of the regional workshop and its role in promoting the exchange of expertise and perspectives on the responsible use of artificial intelligence.
