NIHR Organizes a Consultative Meeting with the Volunteer Expert Group of the Friends of the Child Rights Commissioner
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) organized a consultative meeting bringing together Dr. Maha Al Shehab, Child Rights Commissioner, with the volunteer expert group of the Friends of the Child Rights Commissioner. The meeting comes as part of the NIHR’s efforts to enhance community participation and activate the role of young experts in supporting child rights.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Al Shehab welcomed the participants, expressing her appreciation for their voluntary commitment and their active role in supporting the initiatives of the Child Rights Commissioner. She provided a brief overview of the key events and programs the NIHR is currently implementing in celebration of World Children’s Day, stressing that these activities aim to reinforce children’s rights and strengthen their awareness of the values of participation and empowerment.
During the meeting, a number of proposals and developmental ideas to be implemented in the coming period were presented. Dr. Al Shehab affirmed the NIHR’s keenness to benefit from the insights of the Friends Team and volunteers in shaping innovative initiatives that serve child rights and achieve a sustainable impact within the community.
This meeting comes as part of a series of interactive activities and programs implemented by the National Institution for Human Rights to foster a supportive environment for children, and to emphasize the importance of engaging all segments of society — particularly specialized youth — in the development of initiatives that promote child rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
