Al-Fadhel: “NIHR intends to launch a Research Fellowship Program”

Dr. Khalifa bin Ali Al-Fadhel, Secretary General of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), stated that in light of the NIHR’s keenness to contribute to the intellectual and research movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and to activate Article (12) of the NIHR’s Incorporation Law on Conducting Research and Studies, the NIHR intends to launch a “Research Fellowship Program” that targets academics, post-graduate students, human rights defenders and those interested in human rights issues.

Al-Fadhel pointed out that this program is the first of its kind in the region, which will provide all the necessary means for visiting researchers to contribute to scientific research on human rights issues and they will benefit from the expertise of specialists in various scientific fields and will create a cooperation to conduct scientific research, which will contribute greatly to the promotion of the culture of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The NIHR’s Secretary General also explained that the mechanism for applying for the Program will be announced during the fourth quarter of this year, stressing that the NIHR supports and encourages the educational and academic process to benefit the Kingdom of Bahrain
