NIHR Organizes a Field Visit for “Young Human Rights Advocate” to the Ministry of Information
In the presence of Dr. Maha Al Shehab, Commissioner for Child Rights at the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), the Institution organized a field visit to the Ministry of Information as part of the “Young Human Rights Advocate” program. The visit forms part of NIHR’s efforts to promote and foster a culture of human rights among children, enhance their social awareness, and introduce them to the role of national institutions and their contributions to raising awareness and serving the community.
The visit included a tour of several facilities at the Ministry of Information, including the radio and television studios, the editing department, and the archives. The children learned about the nature of media work and the various stages involved in preparing and producing content. They were also introduced to the operational processes across the Ministry’s different facilities and its efforts to document and preserve media materials.
The visit is part of the educational and awareness-raising activities included in the “Young Human Rights Advocate” program, which aims to enhance children’s knowledge of their rights and duties, instill the values of citizenship, participation, and social responsibility, and broaden their understanding of the roles of national institutions. These efforts contribute to building a generation that is aware of its rights and capable of making a positive and effective contribution to society.
