23 Jun 2025

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) welcomed a group of trainee students from the General Directorate of Traffic as part of an exploratory visit aimed at learning about the Institution’s mission and its role in the field of human rights.

During the visit, the NIHR organized an awareness lecture titled “The Role of the National Institution for Human Rights in the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights,” delivered by a number of legal experts and human rights specialists. The lecture highlighted the establishment of the Institution, its mandate, and its key role in promoting and protecting human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The session also addressed the alignment of national legislation—particularly Bahrain’s Traffic Law—with international human rights standards and principles. This reflects the Institution’s commitment to promoting a culture of human rights across all sectors, including the security and traffic sectors.

This visit is part of the ongoing cooperation between the NIHR and various government entities, aimed at raising human rights awareness among different segments of society, especially youth.
