NIHR Organizes Roundtable Event on Human Rights Legal Clinic Program

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), in cooperation with University of Bahrain, organized a roundtable event of the Human Rights Legal Clinic (HRLC) Program at the NIHR's Training Center.  The event was attended by nearly 40 male and female university students as well as a number of NIHR's General Secretariat officials and HRLC Program supervisors from the University of Bahrain.

The students gave a detailed presentation on the topics in the human rights field prepared by them during their training held by the NIHR, which included definition of the human rights national institutions and their historical development and legal framework, as well as explanation of the concept of human rights enhancement and protection mechanisms, the role of the national institutions in human rights enhancement and protection field and mechanism of research on electronic resources relevant to the human rights issue.  The presentation was permeated by a number of discussions among students and attendees on the raised topics.

At the close of event, NIHR's Chairperson of the Council of Commissioners Dr. Abdul-Aziz Hassan Abul expressed his thanks to the HRLC Program organizers and students, emphasizing the NIHR's pride to be part of this Program, which constitutes the connecting bridge between academic study and practical life, and contributes to refine the graduate students' personality and enable them further to integrate into the labor market, wishing them all the best.
