NIHR Receives a member of the German Parliament (Bundestag)
Eng. Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, Chairperson of the National institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received Dr. Nils Schmid, Member of the German Parliament (Bundestag) for the Social Democratic Party, who is currently visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain as part of a high-level German delegation to participate in the activities of the Manama Dialogue, in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Kay Thamo Bokmann, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany.
During the meeting, Al-Derazi welcomed Dr. Schmid, noting the close and distinguished relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the friendly Federal Republic of Germany, and the development and growth they are witnessing at various levels.
The meeting dealt with a number of issues related to the human rights situation in the Kingdom of Bahrain, where Al-Derazi presented an overview of the NIHR’s efforts and role in protecting and promoting human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
For his part, Dr. Schmid expressed his thanks for the warm reception, stressing the importance of the role of national institutions in protecting and promoting human rights, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain continued progress and prosperity.
