The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) participated in the educational scout exhibition “Scouting: Safety and Security”, organized by the Ministry of Education at Al Maaref Secondary Girls School, with the aim of introducing the role of the Child Rights Commissioner and highlighting his key achievements.

During the exhibition, Dr. Maha Saleh Al Shehab, Child Rights Commissioner, presented an overview of the NIHR’s role in the Kingdom of Bahrain and outlined the responsibilities of the Child Rights Commissioner as well as his most important achievements in promoting and protecting children’s rights.

The exhibition—which was inaugurated by Ms. Kafaya Habib Al Anzoor, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Services, in the presence of Dr. Hani Abdulwahab Mohammed, Secretary General of the Arab Scout Organization – Director of the Arab Scout Region, and with the participation of a number of official entities including the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Health—targeted members of the scouting movement in public and private schools, aged 9 to 17.

Several members of the Friends of the Child Rights Commissioner volunteer expert team also took part in the exhibition, where a dedicated NIHR section featured educational panels on children’s rights in general and on the specific role of the Child Rights Commissioner, with the aim of raising awareness of children’s rights among the target groups.

This participation reflects the NIHR’s commitment to supporting national initiatives that promote a culture of human rights among children and young people, and to raising awareness of the Child Rights Commissioner’s mandate and pivotal role in protecting children’s rights and ensuring their growth in a safe and nurturing environment.
