NIHR’s and Gulf University Sign Memorandum of Understanding

The National institution for Human Rights (NIHR) and the Gulf University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to coordinate the cooperation between the two sides, in an effort to strengthen community partnership and develop legal and human rights knowledge among university students through specialized training programs to equip them with the necessary skills and prepare them to engage in the labor market and respond to its requirements in order to achieve the goal of contributing to the service of the Kingdom of Bahrain and achieving the National Vision 2030.

The MoU was signed by Ms. Maria Khoury, Chairperson of the NIHR Council of Commissioners, and by Dr. Muhannad Al-Mashhadani, President of the Gulf University.  It aims to consolidate the bonds of coordination and joint cooperation with regard to consolidating human rights principles and spreading them, activating the joint role of the two sides in the area of training and education and strengthening cooperation to advance human rights and educational work in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

In light of this MoU, the two sides will train students, exchange visits, legal and human rights consultations, publications, literature and specialized studies, hold events, conferences and joint programs in the area of human rights, cooperate in spreading community awareness by preparing educational designs in the area of human rights, conduct joint research and cooperate in preparing reports on human rights issues.
