NIHR receives President of the Euro-Gulf Information Center

Within the framework of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s cooperation with the international organizations working in the area of human rights, Dr. Khalifa bin Ali Al-Fadel, NIHR’s Acting Secretary-General, received Dr. Mitchell Belfer, President of the Euro-Gulf Information Center (EGIC) in Rome, at the NIHR’s headquarters in Seef district.

At the beginning of the meeting, NIHR’s Acting Secretary-General welcomed Dr. Belfer, praising the Euro-Gulf Information Center (EGIC)’s efforts in following-up the human rights issues in the Arab region.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of topics that would build bridges of cooperation between them for everything that would promote and protect human rights as well as what can be implemented on the ground during the next few years through NIHR’s provision of expertise in the area of training on the human rights issues and capacity-building for members of civil society organizations.

For his part, Dr. Belfer praised NIHR’s effective role in human rights promotion and protection, pointing out the importance of consolidating cooperation, and stressing the need for continued meetings between the two sides, which are important in supporting efforts to achieve common goals.
