NIHR Receives the Fifth Batch of the Human Rights Legal Clinic (HRLC)

The National Institution for Human Rights received at its training center in its headquarters in the Seef District the fifth batch of the Human Rights Legal Clinic (HRLC) as part of the role played by the NIHR in dismminating  and enhancing the culture of respect for human rights among the society individuals. This is achieved by cooperation with the national authorities and bodies concerned with culture, media and education affairs pursuant to provisions of paragraphs No. (h) and (j) of article No. (12) of Law No. (26) of 2014 on establishing the National Institution for Human Rights and in implementation of an MOU concluded with University of Bahrain to support the program of the Human Rights Legal Clinic (HRLC), affiliated to University of Bahrain.

The event was opened by Mr. Ali Jasim Al Bahar – Director of Training and Education, who welcomed the participants and stressed the importance of the role played by the NIHR in promting the culture of human rights through the universities and academic institutes and wished the participants success and progress.

Some cadres specialized in this field from the employees of NIHR participated in the execution of this program, which will continue for one complete academic semester, two days per week and a number students chosen by the Human Rights Legal Clinic in th University of Bahrain participate in the program.

It is noteworthy that this event is included under the mandate of the NIHR involving enhancing and dismminating human rights by holding lectures, and training and educational courses for all society categories; especially university students on human rights issues.
