NIHR and the Office of the Inspector General at the NIA Organize the Seventh Edition of the Human Rights Training Program
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), in cooperation with the Office of the Inspector General at the National Intelligence Agency, is organizing the seventh edition of the Human Rights Training Program for the Agency’s personnel. The program forms part of the ongoing cooperation between the two institutions in training and capacity-building and aims to enhance awareness of human rights standards and principles relevant to the duties of law enforcement officials.
On this occasion, Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), stated that the continuation of the program for its seventh edition reflects the importance of investing in capacity-building and strengthening human rights knowledge. He noted NIHR’s commitment to providing specialized programs that combine legal knowledge with practical applications, thereby contributing to professional practices grounded in respect for human rights and the rule of law.
For his part, H.E. Mohammed Rashid Al Rumaihi, Inspector General at the National Intelligence Agency, emphasized the importance of continued cooperation with NIHR in implementing specialized training programs. He noted that the program contributes to developing the knowledge and skills of the Agency’s personnel and strengthening professional practices that take human rights safeguards and considerations into account in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.
The program covers a range of specialized legal and human rights topics aimed at developing participants’ knowledge and enhancing their understanding of the safeguards established for the protection of human rights in light of national legislation and the Kingdom of Bahrain’s international obligations. It also links theoretical knowledge with practical application in areas relevant to law enforcement duties.
