National institution for human rights holding a consultative meeting with the General Confederation of Labour Unions of Bahrain

Mr. Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights, affirmed the institution's full support for endeavors aimed at advancing and safeguarding labor rights and their associated benefits. Recognizing the pivotal role of labor rights in nation-building and rejuvenation, he stressed the importance of bolstering trade union activities and establishing robust frameworks to empower labor unions in Bahrain.

During a gathering, Mr. Hassan Al-Halwaji, Deputy Secretary-General of the General Federation of Labour Unions of Bahrain, and Mr. Yousef Al-Salhaman, Assistant Secretary-General for Studies and Legislation of the General Federation, along with several members of the Nihr's Council of Commissioners, convened as part of the NIHR's initiatives to foster relations with trade unions and civil society organizations.

Discussions between the two parties centered on enhancing collaborative efforts between the NIHR and the General Federation of Labour Unions of Bahrain. They also delved into devising mechanisms to address labor rights grievances effectively. Additionally, they emphasized the significance of joint training programs and workshops aimed at nurturing a deeper understanding of labor rights within society, thereby aligning trade union activities with international conventions and treaties endorsed by Bahrain.
