NIHR’s receives Regional Director of the German Federal Foreign Office
Ms. Maria Khoury, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received at the NIHR's headquarters in the Seef District Dr. Christian Beck, Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) at the German Federal Foreign Office, in the presence of Mr. Kai Thamo Boeckmann, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Khoury welcomed the guests, commending the strong ties between the two friendly countries, which are reinforced by joint cooperation in various fields, reviewing the strategy and objectives of the NIHR and its role in the promotion and protection of human rights in Bahrain.
The two sides also reviewed the human rights situation in Bahrain and the NIHR's role in dealing with it, where the Ambassador expressed his deep thanks to the NIHR's role in society aiming at promoting human rights.
