NIHR receives Deputy Head of Mission at British Embassy

President of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), Ms. Maria Khouri, received at the NIHR’s headquarters in the Seef district Mr. Stuart Summers, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Bahrain. Present were a number of embassy staff

During the meeting, Ms. Khouri welcomed Mr. Summers and gave a brief on the NIHR and its role in the promotion, dissemination and protection of human rights, stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two sides to build capacity through providing training programs and support of the NIHR’s work in the human rights field.

For his part, the Deputy Head of the British Mission expressed his deep thanks to the NIHR’s Chairman for the good reception and expressed his readiness to provide all support for to the NIHR in order to achieve its objectives and terms of reference and to strengthen mutual cooperation in the field of promotion, protection and development of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting was attended by Counsellor-at-Law Mr. Yasser Ghanim Shaheen, NIHR’s Secretary-General, and Mr. Fahad Abdullah Al-Mualla, Director of Resources & Services.
