NIHR Organizes Awareness Lecture on the Culture of Volunteerism as Part of the “Young Human Rights Advocate” Program
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), in cooperation with Mulhemoon Association, organized an awareness lecture entitled “The Culture of Volunteerism and Its Impact on Human Rights,” as part of the activities of the “Young Human Rights Advocate” program. The lecture was held within the framework of NIHR’s efforts to promote a culture of human rights among children and instill in them the values of responsibility, initiative, volunteerism, and positive participation.
The lecture, delivered by Mulhemoon Association volunteers Amal Hamdi Al-Badawi and Mohammed Khalid, featured a range of interactive activities, stories, and practical scenarios structured around four main stages: “I See, I Understand, I Take Initiative, I Make an Impact.” It aimed to introduce children to the concepts of volunteerism and initiative, develop their ability to recognize and respond to the needs of others, and encourage them to take initiative and make a positive impact through simple actions within their families, schools, and communities.
The lecture forms part of the educational and awareness-raising activities included in the “Young Human Rights Advocate” program, which aims to introduce children to human rights concepts through simple and interactive approaches and connect these concepts with everyday values and behaviors. This contributes to enhancing their awareness of their rights and duties, fostering a spirit of initiative and social responsibility, and preparing a generation capable of positive and effective participation in society.
