Al Fadhel: 2773 Beneficiaries of NIHR Programs in 2018

Dr. Khalifa bin Ali Al Fadhel, Secretary General of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), stated that the NIHR has been able to increase the number of beneficiaries of its training programs in comparison to last year, where the number of beneficiaries of the training programs implemented by the NIHR in the current year was 2773, amounting to 428 in the first quarter, 880 in the second quarter, 655 in the third quarter and 810 in the last quarter.

Dr. Al Fadhel said that the beneficiaries of the NIHR’s training and educational programs included law enforcement, academic, consultancy and trade union organizations, as well as civil society organizations, youth, students of public and private schools and universities, human rights defenders and private and commercial institutions, in addition to beneficiaries of the special cooperation program with the National Security Agency, amounting to 160 members of the Agency.

The NIHR’s Secretary General pointed out that this large number of participants, which is increasing every year, requires more serious work, stressing at the same time the keenness of the NIHR to improve the quality and ensure the maximum use of those programs on a continuous basis to reflect positively on the trainees and the agencies they represent.

The training programs, which represent the main gateway to promote a culture of human rights for all groups of society, has been attended by a number of human rights and legal staff, in order to achieve the objectives of international, regional and national human rights mechanisms that promote human rights awareness in accordance with best human rights practices.
