NIHR Receives Chargé d'Affairs of the US Embassy to the Kingdom of Bahrain

Ms. Maria Khoury, Chairperson of the National institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received Mrs. Margaret Nardi, Chargé d'Affairs of the US Embassy to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Mrs. Solmaz Sharifi, the Political Official at the Embassy. The meeting was attended by Chancellor Yasser Ghanim Shahin, NIHR Secretary-General. The meeting comes within the framework of the permanent cooperation between the NIHR and the American Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
During the meeting, Ms. Khoury touched on the recent field visits conducted by the NIHR to the Correction and Rehabilitation Centre in Jaw region and the necessary precautionary and preventive measures. The two sides also touched on a number of other issues of common interest and the importance of continuing cooperation and coordination between the NIHR and the Embassy. Ms. Khoury expressed her wishes that the coordination will continue to transfer the human rights achievements and progress made in the area of human rights to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
