NIHR Reviews Strengthening Training Programs with British Embassy

The Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), Ms. Maria Khoury, met Mr. Dave Brown, Liaison Officer, and Mr. Chris Thompson, Head of the Programs Section, both from the British Embassy. The meeting was attended by Dr. Malallah Alhammadi, Member of the NIHR’s Council of Commissioners, and Counselor-at-law Yasser Ghanim Shaheen, NIHR's Secretary General.

During the meeting, they discussed strengthening cooperation between the NIHR and the British Embassy through holding a number of training programs in the area of human rights, which fall within the NIHR’s terms of reference in the area of receiving complaints and mechanism of handling them. Ms. Khoury expressed her appreciation for the British Embassy’s outstanding role in promoting bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries.

For their part, the attendees appreciated the NIHR’s hard work and cooperation with the competent authorities in the United Kingdom, emphasizing their continued readiness to provide all support for the NIHR to accomplish its goals and terms of reference in a professional manner.
