NIHR announces its participation in monitoring the By-elections announced in Muharraq Governorate

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) announces its participation in monitoring the By-elections process for the House of Representatives in Muharraq Governorate, which will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 (Election Day), and Saturday, September 14, 2024 (In cases requiring re-election). A team from the Council of Commissioners and the General Secretariat of NIHR will undertake the monitoring tasks, aiming to ensure the smoothness of the electoral procedures and their proper execution.

Furthermore, NIHR has set up a toll-free hotline (80001144) to receive complaints and observations related to the electoral process, from 8 AM to 8 PM on Saturday, September 7, 2024, and Saturday, September 14, 2024. Anyone with a complaint or observation related to the mechanisms, controls, and procedures of the elections can directly contact NIHR and provide the necessary information. Additionally, information and observations can be sent using the NIHR’s WhatsApp at (17111666).

Eng. Ali Ahmad Alderazi, Chairperson of NIHR, noted that the institution's involvement in the supplementary elections is aligned with its governing laws and reflects its extensive experience in this field on both local and international stages. He expressed his confidence in the fairness and transparency of the electoral process, supported by the mature democratic practices in Bahrain.
