NIHR concludes a “Legal and Human Rights Clinic” Program in Cooperation with the University of Bahrain

The National institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has concluded a “Legal and Human Rights Clinic” program for the first semester 2020 – 2021 of the College of Law of the University of Bahrain, which was organized in cooperation with the University of Bahrain.  It featured a training program that was held remotely for a number of students of Law at the University for three consecutive months, which dealt with a number of topics including General Information on Human Rights and Basic Freedoms, National, Regional and International Mechanisms for the Protection of Human Rights and the Role of the NIHR in Protecting Human Rights and Basic Freedoms.  The participating students, through the 19-session training course, also learned about the most essential services provided by the NIHR and its role in the protection and promotion of human rights at the local and international levels.

On the occasion of the conclusion of the program, NIHR Secretary-General Chancellor Yasser Ghanim Shaheen, thanked the organizers of the program and the students participating in it, stating that the aim of this program is to refine the students' experience in the field of protecting and promoting human rights and to provide them with various scientific and practical skills, wishing them all success and achievement.
