The NIHR Receives Students from Applied Science University

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) hosted Applied Science University students at its Training Center in line with its role in disseminating and enhancing the culture of awareness of human rights respect among community members, and as a step towards the reinforcement of social partnership between the NIHR and various universities of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Dr. Abdulaziz Hassan Abul, who was pleased with this visit,  said "We are always pleased to welcome our students to visit the NIHR, which is one of the outcomes of the reform project of His Majesty King of Bahrain, may God protect him, in order to introduce them to the most important values and principles, which develop their human rights awareness as well as their duties towards themselves and our precious home country, and we hope that such visit would be fruitful to everybody".

The NIHR's Director of Training and Education Mr. Ali Al-Bahar opened the event by welcoming the participant students.  He gave them a lecture on "International Humanitarian Law" in which he gave them an idea about the Law, its inception and development, stages of drafting, components, core principles, basic rules which govern armed conflicts, scope of the application of Law provisions, groups protected thereunder and mechanisms of enforcement.
