NIHR Chairperson Receives Deputy Chief of the U.S. Mission in Bahrain

Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received in his office Mr. David Brownstein, Deputy Chief of Mission of the United States of America accredited to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting included discussions on a number of issues of mutual interest, as well as areas of cooperation between the two sides. Alderazi also reviewed the Institution’s efforts to promote and disseminate a culture of human rights and to monitor the human rights situation in the Kingdom through field visits and the issuance of oversight and awareness reports, in accordance with the NIHR’s mandate as stipulated in its establishing law and in line with international principles and standards governing the work of national human rights institutions.
