NIHR Conducts an Unannounced Visit to the Pretrial Detention Centre in the Dry Dock

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has conducted an unannounced visit to the Pretrial Detention Centre in the Dry Dock, especially the young inmates’ section, located in Hidd region.
During the visit, the NIHR delegation examined the inmates’ living conditions and the quality and adequacy of food offered to them.
In the medical clinic, the NIHR delegation was briefed on the healthcare services provided, under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Health, and met with a number of inmates, listened to their requests, recorded their notes and prepared appropriate recommendations in this regard to be forwarded to the competent authorities.
