NIHR receives Italian Ambassador to Bahrain

Mr. Saeed bin Mohamed Al-Faihani, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received HE Mr. Domenico Pilato, Ambassador of Italy to the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the presence of Mr. Abdullah Ahmed Al-Derazi, NIHR’s Vice chairperson, and Dr. Khalifa bin Ali Al-Fadel, NIHR’s Acting Secretary-General, at the NIHR’s headquarters in Seef district.

At the beginning of the meeting, Chairperson of the NIHR welcomed Ambassador of Italy, praising the strong relations between the two countries, reinforced by mutual cooperation in various fields.  He reviewed the action strategy of the NIHR as well as its objectives and role in the promotion and protection of the culture of human rights under the reform era of His Majesty King of Bahrain, may Allah protect him, who promoted the establishment of human rights values and principles and the preservation of freedoms through his support for human rights institutions, including the NIHR.

For his part, Ambassador of Italy valued the essential role adopted by the NIHR in the human rights area, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation relations between the two sides in support for their efforts to achieve common goals.
