President of National Institution for Human Rights receives the Director General of the General Directorate of Reformation and Rehabilitation

His Excellency, Dr. Abdul-Aziz Hassan Abel, President of National Institution for Human Rights, welcomed at the headquarters of National Institution for Human Rights in Seef District Brigadier General Yusuf Hassan Al Arabi, Director-General of the General Directorate of Reformation and Rehabilitation accompanied with Colonel Abdullah Ali Almantr Head of Inmates Correction and Rehabilitation Center.

At the beginning of the meeting, the President of NIHR welcomed the visiting delegation and congratulated Brigadier General Yusuf Al- Arabi on the royal trust appointing him Director-General of General Directorate of Reformation and Rehabilitation wishing him continued success and progress in his new position.

President of NIHR praised the efforts of the management to provide all services necessary for innmates within the framework of implementing the law based upon the great concern given by HE Lt. General Sheikh Rashid Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of the Interior to execute the program of reforming inmates within the framework of the development and modernization strategy adopted by Ministry of Interior.

In addition, the President of NIHR lauded the constructive cooperation between Ministry of Interior and National Institution for Human Rights and stressed the complete support of NIHR for all issues that serve the interest of the citizens and the homeland.

On his part, HE Brigadier General Yusuf Hassan Arabi, the Director General of the General Directorate of Reformation and Rehabilitation lauded the efforts exerted by the National Institution for Human Rights and its tireless endeavors to advance and enhance human rights and to promote the culture of human rights in society.

He stated that the directives of HE Minister of Interior stress the importance of continued cooperation and coordination between the General Directorate of Reformation and Rehabilitation, the National Institution for Human Rights and all Civil Society Institutions, involved with establishing and enhancing human rights that are deemed as stable and inherent approach in the police work.

Some issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting and the ways of activating the mechanisms of continued communication and exchanging experiences between both sides. Mr. Abdullah Alderazi, Vice President of NIHR, Ms. Maria Khoury, Commissioner and Head of complaints, monitoring and follow-up Committee, Counselor-at-law Mr. Yasser Shaheen, acting Secretary-General and Mr. Fahad Al Moala, Director of Information and Communication Technology Department attended the meeting.
