NIHR Concludes Training Programme for National Intelligence Agency Staff

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has concluded its training programme for staff of the National Intelligence Agency in its 5th edition for staff of the National Intelligence Agency, in cooperation with the Office of the Inspector-General, which lasted for two weeks, including a number of lectures in the field of human rights.

Dr. Muhammad Ali Qutb, Professor of General Criminal Law at the Royal Academy of Police, gave the last lecture in the programme, in which he discussed the philosophy of punishment according to the Bahraini legislator, and the Bahraini legislator’s position on people before, during and after the restriction of their freedom ends.  He also touched on the minimum rules for the treatment of prisoners and the development taking place in these rules.

This programme, which was co-presented by a number of spcialists in the legal and human rights field, is held in implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the NIHR and the Office of the Inspector-General of the National Intelligence Agency, with the aim of enhancing awareness of human rights principles for those in charge of law enforcement who are members of the security agencies.
