NIHR organizes an Event on "Child's Rights" for Al-Falah School Students

In coincidence with the 27th anniversary of Bahrain's accession to the International Convention on the Rights of the Child and the 30th anniversary of its adoption by the UN General Assembly, and based upon the NIHR's role in disseminating and promoting a culture of human rights among all segments of society, the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has organized an event to raise awareness of children's rights for elementary school students in Al-Falah Private Schools, where Mrs. Fatema Al Tarif, Head of NIHR's Training and Education Unit, and Mrs. Maryam Seyadi, Administrative Official at the Unit, presented a brief on the basic principles contained in the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Bahraini Child Law in a simple and interesting manner that aims to communicate information in an easy and accessible manner, which was intervened by practical activities including some educational games that that consolidate a culture of children's rights for them.  Some publications of the NIHR were distributed during the event including coloring books on children's rights and brochures of the Universal Declaration of the Rights of the Child.

This event falls within the NIHR's community partnership and in implementation of its strategy and action plan that aims to disseminate awareness of the principles and foundations of human rights for all segments of society.
