NIHR and Marsd Association launch “Human Rights Challenges” Competition

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) and Marsd Human Rights Association announced the launch of the 1st edition of the cultural competition “Human Rights Challenges”, with the participation of a group of civil society institutions concerned with human rights.  The event will be held on Saturday the 12th of October 2019 at the NIHR’s Training Center.

On this occasion, Counselor Yasser Ghanim Shaheen, NIHR’s Secretary General, explained that the launch of this competition comes in implementation of the NIHR’s strategy and action plan for the dissemination of a human rights culture and promotion of awareness of it in civil society institutions in accordance with the best practices.

For his part, Mr. Abdullah Al-Qattan, Chairman of the Cultural Committee at Marsd Human Rights Association, stated that the competition will witness the participation of a number of civil society institutions concerned with human rights, where each association will be represented by three participants, and will be held in a fun cultural atmosphere aimed at strengthening ties between them.

On the other hand, the organizing Committee stresses its entire readiness to organize this cultural competition, which will include a number of themes, such as the international legitimacy of human rights, the national legislature and international instruments on human rights, general information about the Human Rights Council and its mechanisms and the NIHR’s terms of reference and role as per its Incorporation Law.
