The National Institution for Human rights is launching the fifth edition of the legal training programme for the National Intelligence Service.

The fifth iteration of a specialized training program for members of the National Intelligence Service Agency (NSA) concerning human rights, jointly organized by the National Institution for Human Rights in collaboration with the Office of the Inspector General of the National Intelligence Service, commenced within the framework of the Community Partnership for the Implementation of Best Practices on Human Rights and the execution of the memorandum of understanding between the two entities.

Mrs. Fatima Al-Tarif, Head of the Training and Education Unit, inaugurated the program, providing an overview that extends until the end of November, highlighting the topics to be covered throughout. Dr. Lulua Bint Ahmed Al-Khalifa, Associate Professor at the University of Bahrain's Faculty of Law, delivered the program's inaugural lecture on the historical progression of human rights across various spheres.                      

Leading up to the program, Mr. Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, Chairperson of NIHR, underscored its alignment with the institution's strategy and action plan for 2022-2025, emphasizing the dissemination of a human rights ethos among law enforcement officials in line with Bahrain's National Human Rights Plan.

Mr. Mohammed Rashid Al-Rumaihi, Inspector-General of the National Intelligence Service, commended the efforts of the program's sponsors, reflecting on its inception in 2018 and its significant contribution to fostering a deeper understanding of human rights principles within the National Intelligence Service.
